Department of Defense Worldwide Conference
As part of our University’s ongoing commitment to the brave women and men who serve our country in the Armed Forces, David Parsons, Military Outreach, and Tom Lamoureux, Marketing Operations Manager, recently returned from Las Vegas where Northcentral had a strong presence at the Department of Defense Worldwide Conference (DoDWW).
Held every three years and sponsored by the Council for College and Military Education (CCME), the DoDWW event provides excellent marketing, networking and education opportunities for our military outreach team with military personnel and education counselors and officers who work with the military and their governing bodies. NCU gained solid leads from the Education Services Officers (ESOs) of Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Joint Base McGuire. In the military world, ESOs are extremely influential in regard to education decisions in that they are the “gate keeper,” in charge of all education-related choices for their particular base.
Ten current military students of Northcentral stopped by our booth to thank us for our continuing support, and new insights were gained in regard to current military strength demographics. This information may prove critical in that the planned draw down in forces slated for 2013 will create an influx of military personnel becoming civilians who will be looking for employment – and advanced degrees as a way to enhance their position in the workforce and begin the next phase of their lives.
Federal Express Education Consortium
NCU is in the building! Elvis may be gone – but Northcentral’s partnership with FedEx is alive and well!
To strengthen our partnership with the FedEx Corporation, Marketing Campaign Managers Devin Anderson and Michael Lepinski recently returned from Memphis, Tennessee, where they represented Northcentral University at the FedEx Education Consortium, an employee development fair sponsored by the company’s Center for Employee Self Development.
Northcentral is one of only several approved partner schools where FedEx’s some 300,000 employees may further their education on a tuition-deferred basis and at scholarship rates. NCU’s Marketing Team created a distinctive brochure for this all-day event, and updated our landing page for FedEx employees: fedex.ncu.edu/.
Our team experienced a consistent flow of FedEx employees throughout the day at our booth, and we had a lot of interest in our school. Some employees were already aware of us from our years of partnership with FedEx, while others had never heard of us and were intrigued by the fact we were there. Overall, the event was a great success, fortifying our relationship with this well-known organization, consistently ranked among the world’s most admired and trusted employers.
